Dr. Rachel Perlitsh grew up in a dental family and knew early on that she wanted to work in health care. She worked throughout high school with her father, Dr. Max Perlitsh, who is a well-known and respected retired Periodontist and a former chairman of the Tufts Periodontics Department. Dr. Perlitsh enjoyed and explored all areas of dentistry. She was most fascinated by growth and development and loved working with teenage patients and parents which lead her to decide on orthodontics as her career.
Dr. Perlitsh graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1991. Upon graduation, she was inducted into the prestigious National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Dr. Perlitsh also received the Academy of General Dentistry Senior Student Award for Excellence. Following graduation, she completed a General Practice Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City in 1992. Following her residency program, she returned to the Tufts University Post Graduate Orthodontic Program, where she earned her degree in 1994.
Dr. Perlitsh is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, The American Dental Association, and The Academy of Dental Science.
Dr. Perlitsh is a Premier Gold Invisalign provider. She has completed the Invisalign Masters Program and the Intensive Aligner Fellowship.
Dr. Rachel has two children. Her son graduated Bates college with a Biology Degree in 2016 and is an avid photographer and videographer. Her daughter attends Brown University and is an Economics and French major. Both Dr. Rachel’s children love skiing and have both competed competitively and worked as ski coaches. In her spare time Dr. Perlitsh enjoys cycling, hiking, singing with her “Soul Sisters” and spending time with family and friends.
